Nokia N96 Phone Review

Nokia N96 is the official successor to the highly successful ‘N95’, which was publicly announced during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, February 2008 and was later released for sale in September 2008.

Initially, N96 was rolled out in the European market, Middle East and Asia-Pacific. Afterward, N96 will be launched in the United States and Chinese market.

N96 comes with astounding features including a 5MP camera, 3G data, the powerful S60 UI along with 8GB of internal memory. Other features of Nokia N96 handset include:

• 5 MegaPixel auto focus camera with dual-LED flash and AF assist light
• 2.8" 16M-color TFT LCD display of QVGA resolution
• Dual ARM 9 264 MHz CPU and 128 MB of RAM
• Symbian OS 9.3 with S60 3.2 UI
• 3G with HSDPA support and Built-in DVB-H TV tuner
• Wi-Fi with UPnP technology and Quad-band GSM support
• Built-in GPS with A-GPS functionality and 3 months of free voice-guided navigation
• Dual slide design with dedicated gaming/audio keys
• Massive 16GB onboard storage
• Stereo FM Radio with RDS and VGA video recording at 30fps
• USB and Bluetooth v2.0, 3.5 mm audio jack and TV out-put
• microSD card slot with microSDHC support and key pad locking slide key

Nokia N96 has some demerits as well, which are described below:-

1. No camera lens protection
2. No office document editing out of the box
3. Insufficient battery life
4. Doesn’t change via the USB port
5. Cheap looking keypad
6. Dreadful camera key
7. It is quite costly as well
8. Same design as that of N81 device

In the Indian market, N96 is priced around Rs 31,500 or USD $648.15 approx.
